What's up at Wolfe
December 4th
What it is with Mr. Grob
I sit here Sunday morning drinking coffee reflecting on our past couple weeks and find myself feeling as proud as ever to be a part of the Warrior community. Over the past two weeks a few select Warriors had great ideas to give back to our larger community. These students showed all of us what the Warrior Way looks like in action. These Warriors acted selflessly and collaborated to make a large impact within their own community. Ms. Conaton and I are both extremely proud of them and thankful for their drive to see their vision through.
Hoods for Goods:
Richie Harbison and Kamari Cunningham raised multiple truckloads of non-partible food items and donated it to the Salvation Army of Warren’s local food pantry. The accomplished this by having students at Wolfe donate food in exchange to wear their hoods for an entire school day.
St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital & The Giving Tree:
Monalisa Maisha and Kaitlynn Legree worked together and raised money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital by hosting a movie for students. Students who were able to obtain permission from their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hour teachers were able to attend the movie with a monetary donation (All students who attended the movie were responsible for any missed work). The fund raiser was wildly successful and raised nearly $800 for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. In addition to Monalisa and Kaitlynn Wolfe’s teachers stepped up by donating a variety of concession items to enhance the students experience. The money raised from concessions was donated to Wolfe’s Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is a holiday program that aims to provide families with a variety of gifts for their children throughout the holiday season. Students were able to generate a staggering $800 to further fund the program. In years past, the Giving Tree was largely funded by Wolfe teachers, custodians, secretaries, paraprofessionals and administration. The program is a huge success and brings joy to a variety of families.
As I have mentioned countless times before, we have the best jobs in the universe. It is an absolute joy to serve the communities of Center Line and Warren. Our students are worth their weight in gold and they reliably show our community what it means to be at the highest levels of Warriorhood.
Have a great week everyone!
Mr. Grob
