What was the Government
The Roman Government was a Republic government. It is similar to the United States which means the citizens vote for the leader. Until it later became a dictatorship, and the an empire.
Julius Caeser
Julius Caeser was a powerful ruler who changed the Roman government from a republic to a dictatorship. After he was assassinated it became an empire.
Toga
A toga was an article of clothing only worn by citizens who could vote.
Senate
The senate was a government official who made laws and government choices. The Untied states government also has a senate!
When did leaders change
Leaders could change very quickly or have power for a long time. If a ruler was overthrown by a war general he might not have the throne for that long, but if the ruler was never over throne and he had to hand it down to a relative he may have it for a long time.
Slavery of Rome.
Slaves were punished if the did something wrong or messed up a task.
Slaves were warriors that Romans caught in battle, or they were people from conquered lands.
They were also sold to rich Romans.
Ways Roman culture is reflected today in the United States culture.
Many of our structures are based on Roman structures we use pillars and a lot of curves in bigger structures, our language has a lot of Latin roots, and a lot of our art is based on Roman art.
