Spinal Screening
Our school will have its annual spinal screening day on Wednesday, January 17, 2018. All boys and girls in the 6th grade, plus new-to-Texas-schools 7th and 8th graders, will be required to participate in this state-mandated health screening (only those students who have an affidavit for exclusion related to religion, or a note from a physician which states the student is already under the care of that physician for a spinal condition, will be excluded from screening. Trained screeners will check all the participating students for signs of spinal problems like scoliosis by observing the students standing and bending forward. Students should wear a thin shirt, even if it is worn under a warmer/thicker shirt, on the day of the screening. The screening will occur during the 2nd, 3rd, 6th and 7th periods and in the 6th grade PE/fitness classes, and will take place in the locker rooms.
Career Exploration Fair
Round Rock Independent School District is excited to host our 1st Annual District-wide Career Exploration Fair. Our vision for this event is to provide an opportunity for students in grades K-12, with their parents, to explore the various careers that await them in their future. Our goal as educators is to broaden the horizons of the next generation by promoting an atmosphere in which they can explore and gain the knowledge of the vast array of careers available to them. We believe that if we start early with connecting future job seekers with potential employers, we can feel confident that every child in the district has the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills, and the confidence they need to ensure successful futures. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you and your child to join us on March 5, 2018 at Round Rock High School from 6pm-8pm.
In addition, if you would be willing to host a free booth, please complete the brief registration form using the link below. We desire for this fair to be an exploratory event for our students and ask that, if possible, you bring items that allow the students to engage in a hands-on experience of your career field. If you have any questions, feel free to contact LaShanda Lewis, Coordinator of Counseling Services for Round Rock ISD at 512-464-6177.

This year, twelve of our 36 libraries will be restocked with thousands of books, plus one new high school library will be provided. Thank you for partnering with us as we change lives one book at a time.“
In addition to collecting over 600 books, Grisham students also engaged in inquiry and research about East Africa over the last month in their den classes.
