Greetings Virtual Voyagers and Families,


A warm hello to you all on this frosty winter Friday!


It's been another busy week over here at the Schultz Campus with the end of the semester upon us. The Virtual Campus faculty have been working diligently to ensure that each student has every opportunity possible to earn credit in their classes. Our team ended the week on a high note with an afternoon of amazing professional learning for our elementary staff. Thank you for your support as our professional learning time provides an invaluable opportunity for our staff to evaluate how we are meeting the needs of each of our students.


Next week, we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and we hope you will consider participating in one of our district learning opportunities (more information included below).

For those of you who may have missed it last week, we are excited to share our first Virtual Adventure for the year, featuring The Big Bright Light Show in downtown Rochester!


Students and families also have the opportunity to complete a series of activities with a focus on community to earn a digital badge. Any students who choose to complete the badge activities should email our Technology Program Consultant Julie Rains to be awarded their digital badge and mini button" jrains@rochester.k12.mi.us

With sniffle season upon us, please take a moment to review the ParentVUE Absence reporting information. You can now report all day absences via ParentVUE. Absences can be reported for a full day or for multiple days. All absences can also be reported using our attendance line 248.726.5900.

The Virtual Campus is always looking for tiny patriots that would love to share their voice and lead our classes in the Pledge of Allegiance. Visit our Flipgrid site here and follow the filming directions. Share your video and your child might see their pledge in their Morning Meeting! We are so proud to share that we have over 80 submissions to date! Way to go Voyagers!

Chromebook Pickup and Technical Support

As a reminder, all RCS students are required to have a district device for use in the classroom.

If you do not yet have an RCS device, please schedule an appointment by using this link: https://form.jotform.com/203207837751153.


Families may use this checklist to ensure an efficient device pick-up.

  • Device deployments will take place at the RCS Administration Center, located at 501 W. University Dr.
  • Directions and available times will be provided during appointment sign-up.
  • For faster service, please arrive with a completed Student Device Loan Agreement.
  • High-school students may pick up their own device, as long as the agreement form is signed by a parent or guardian.

We truly appreciate your support in providing our students with the necessary tools and resources for a productive year of growth and learning.


If you already have your Chromebook device, we strongly recommend viewing these Chromebook tutorials to remind you how to take care of your device and get signed into Zoom:

Technology Troubleshooting

Just like students new to middle school may get locker jams or our little friends may need help finding their classroom cubby, there may be some virtual snags that happen as we kick-off our new school year. Should you run into any technical issues (that are not Brightspace related), we recommend the following steps:

  1. Visit our district Family Technology Support Page. There are tutorials and information on many of our common technology tools including: ParentVUE and StudentVUE, Zoom, Flipgrid and Seesaw.

  1. If that does not solve your problem, complete a Technology Support Form and our district technology support staff will get back to you as soon as they are able.

  1. If you still have questions or need assistance, please contact Julie Rains at jrains@rochester.k12.mi.us
