Baron De Montesquieu was a very hard worker at being a French lawyer political philosopher, he studied and improved his education on a regular basis, he also worked on the Spirit of laws for approximately 20 years. This was all during the age of the Enlightenment.

In 1748 the Spirit of Laws were published which included the idea that the main function of the court is justice. (this is what Baron was known for) The spirit of law is where the three branches of our government came from he is the one that said the power of the government should be separation of power. Baron died in 1755 February 10th he was 86 and died in Bordeaux,France. (21 years before the Declaration of Independence)
