Read, Read, Read!
Spring Break is coming, and we want to remind you to take time to READ! Students have many ways to access books during their vacation. Each student has their own Anderson 5 username and password, and this information can be used to log into our electronic books. Students can also visit the Anderson County Library to find a world of knowledge, and participate in their special events. Go to http://www.andersonlibrary.org/events/events-for-kids/ to find out what events the library has to offer.
Read Across America March 2-6
Hats Off to Dr. Seuss!
Monday, March 2nd, students celebrated Dr. Seuss and his birthday. Students around the school wore some of their favorite hats to celebrate. This was a fantastic way to kick off Read Across America Week!
Beth from the SC Aquarium
During Read Across America week, students were visited by guest readers from across the Nation. On Thursday, Beth from the South Carolina Aquarium, located in Charleston, SC, visited us via Skype. She even brought one of her friends with to share with us after she read about the salt marsh. Our favorite fact of the day was about how turtles escape from sharks and manage not to become dinner!
Book Character Dress Up
- On Friday, March 6th, students and teachers dressed up as some of their favorite book characters. Mrs. Lewis, a third grade teacher, was our best dressed teacher and Jose from Mrs. Ellis' 3rd grade class was our best dressed student. Congratulations!
