How gold is harvested and purified for use.

Gold in nature is found from mining. It is found in rock and in the form of ore. Gold is purified for use by using either chemicals or a high temperature flame. The method of refining gold is a very common method and has been used for years. A craftsman will sit by a hot fire with molten gold in a crucible and will stir and skim it, to remove impurities from it. This job is highly dangerous, because the flame can reach up to 1000 degrees Celsius. The method using chemicals works by using strong acids to dissolve the impurities from the from the gold ore. The result of this is a muddy substance, that forms into a powder form. This powder is then heated with a torch and is turned into usable gold.
