A message from Mr. Sesker Re: snow day make up
Hi Everyone,
Here is our plan for the snow day that we need to make up.
1. First 4 hours will be counted from the last snow day that staff used to record grades, which means we need to still make up 3.5 hours
2. Elementary math team will use the 3.5 hours to review math curriculum for next year. We will determine an evening (M, T, or Th) that the elementary teachers will meet. I will get that to you as soon as we touch base with the vendors. Time will be 3:15 p.m. – 6:45 p.m. or 3:15 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. if you want to take a dinner break.
3. MS/HS/ALC/ABE/Preschool will also meet that same evening (TBD) to work on our safety plan and/or curriculum. We will get you details asap.
4. June 5th will also be open if you cannot make #2 or #3 work. You will be expected to work from 7:30 – 11:00 a.m. if the other times don’t work for you.
5. Teachers may use comp time or personal time if you cannot make this work.
We will have more details, but I know many of you have been asking how we plan to make this day up.
It is sunny now, let’s keep it that way J
Have a great weekend!

FMS proposal
1. hire a Dean of Students and a Behavior Interventionist
2. increase the hours of the Student Services secretary in order to have the office be open all day.
3. hire an additional hallway/lunchroom supervisor
I presented this to the Finance Committee on April 16th and it passed. The next step of the process is to have the Board act on the proposal. Mr. Sesker is asking that this proposal be placed on the May Board agenda rather than the April agenda in order to give time for all staff to have a chance to voice their support or non-support for the proposal.
You are invited to share your thoughts with me and/or to be part of a Q/A panel with Mr. Sesker and myself. Mr. Sesker would like to have a mix of teachers, paras, clerical, and custodians represented on this panel.
Please let me know if you are interested in sharing your support or concerns. Time and date of the meeting has not been set yet. If you want to share your thoughts without attending the meeting, please email me and I will pass along the comments when we meet.
Thank you again for all your contributions to FMS.
