Graduation Information
Tickets for the Ceremony and Formal are available for purchase. To order tickets, simply log in to your Parent PowerSchool Portal. Tickets for the Ceremony are $30 per person (the Graduate DOES NOT require a ticket). Tickets for the Formal are $25 per person (the Graduate WILL require a ticket).
The Graduates have a mandatory Rehearsal the day before grad, Friday, May 26th at 3:30 in the gym at school.
The day of Graduation we ask that the Grads arrive at the Edmonton Convention Center (formerly the Shaw Conference Center) at 11:30. This is to get them ready for the ceremony in the Grad regalia and into alphabetical order.
They are to arrive with their cap and gown/stole (we will not have extras at the venue). These items will be handed out to them the week before Grad.
There is a room we will be using to store suit jackets, dresses and extra shoes, etc. Coat racks are supplied for this room, but no hangers (it is recommended to bring a hanger for your items). The washrooms will be used to change into their. Please note, these bathrooms VERY large and accommodate many bodies and large dresses. There will be a few staff there to help zip/tie/snap and adjust if needed. If your grad chooses to wear their gown during the ceremony, that is also acceptable.
The doors to the Ceremony will not open until 12:00, tickets will be required for entry as Convention Center Staff take tickets upon arrival. Seating is not assigned, and there is not limit to the amount of tickets a family can purchase. If you require wheelchair seating please let us know a few days in advance and we will let you know where the seating will be. All parking downtown is paid parking, so that all are aware. The front of the building is under construction and we have been told it will not be completed before our ceremony, as such the best parking would then be at Canada Place, it is an underground walk through to the concourse level of the Convention Center.
The Ceremony generally lasts about 2 ½ hours. We ask that you kindly remain at the Ceremony until the last graduate is recognized. There is time afterwards to venture across the road to take beautiful ravine pictures or have a little visit.
The doors to the Formal open at 7:00. Around 8:30 we will gather the Grads and their escorts (if they chose to bring one) for a Grand March. The Formal is open to all who wish to attend. Tickets are required for entry to the Formal. The Graduate will require a ticket for this event as well. There will be light refreshments and snacks at the Formal.
The Student Choice Awards will be handed out during the Formal (around 9:15pm).
