Wildlight Elementary School

A Month of Celebrations

Congratulations to Wildlight Elementary's Students of the Quarter

At Wildlight Elementary, we value respect, responsibility, and active engagement and want to reward our students who consistently demonstrate these traits. Each week, the teachers select one student as their "Student of the Week" who demonstrates our three core values. From those students, two students per grade level were drawn at random to represent Wildlight as the Students of the Quarter. These students will be treated to a pizza luncheon on October 30th in the cafeteria at 11:30 am and will receive a certificate recognizing their achievement. Way to go kiddos! Keep up the great work! The students representing Wildlight are:

Jaiden Riggs, Max McGowan, Kadee Morgan, Matthew Reschke, Eli Bozeman, AJ Manning, Amelia Santiago, Bekka Woolard, MacKenzie Dudak, Cayden Ricks, and Dinari Kirton

Congratulations to Wildlight Elementary's Teacher of the Year, Donna Sides!

Donna Sides is an amazing veteran Kindergarten teacher who puts her heart into all she does for her students and those around her. She is passionate about education and it shines through in everything she does. She serves WES in a number of ways, including being the Kindergarten Grade Level chairperson, a mentor to new teachers, a member of our School Advisory Council, and a member of the Reading Committee, just to name a few. We are blessed to have Mrs. Sides as a part of our team at WES! Congratulations on this well deserved honor!

Congratulations to Brandy Kowalik, Wildlight Elementary's Volunteer of the Year!

Mrs. Kowalik has done a tremendous job helping out in each and every capacity we have asked of her, and constantly steps up to the plate in areas we didn't even realize we needed help. No matter what it is that our school needs, Brandy is always there and willing to lend a hand. We are so grateful for all you have done for WES!

A Gift From the Rotary Club

Our third grade students were surprised this month by a gift from the Rotary Club- a brand new dictionary! Sean McGill, Antoinette Richter, and Dennie Pendergrass, Rotary Club members, presented each of our third graders with a dictionary to demonstrate the Rotary Club's commitment to education in Nassau County and talk to the students about the power of words. Thank you for supporting our students!
