WINTER ATHLETIC PLAN
The following interests guide the following winter athletic plan:
To acknowledge the increased risk associated with athletics while providing an opportunity for our student athletes to participate in winter sports as safely as possible.
To recognize the positive impact athletics have on academics as part of a comprehensive education.
To respect the input of local medical professionals, as well as guidance from Central District Health and the SIC Winter Sports. additional measures beyond those guidelines.
To follow our Fall sports model -- gradual build up, reduced competition schedule.
To implement protocols that minimize exposure and transmission of COVID-19 among our students and staff.
To find equitable, enforceable and cost-effective solutions.
BASKETBALL - TIMELINE TO CONSIDER
Dec. 15th - 22nd: Limited Workouts & Measures Beyond SIC Guidelines
Schools can decide to offer small group conditioning, skill work, and weight room workouts with a total of 10 individuals in attendance (including coaches, athletes, etc.).
Girls & Boys Basketball: Start tryouts on Dec. 22
Girls Basketball Games will start on January 11th, and games will end February 4th (No Tournaments).
Boys Basketball Games will start on February 8th, and games will end March 12th (No Tournaments).

Important Nurse Info 2020-2021
The immunization and physical requirements are the same for students participating in the on-line program as the in-person classroom. Please refer to the different grade level requirements listed below.
7th Grade: Immunizations and PE physical
All students entering 7th grade are required to have 1 recent Tdap and 1 Meningococcal vaccine prior to the first day of school. All other immunizations requirements need to be up to date as well. Please review your student’s immunization status with your healthcare provider to ensure that your student meets these requirements. Incoming 7th graders are required to have a PE physical on file for PE/Sports participation. The physical examination must be completed after May 1st of the student's 6th grade year.
8th Grade: Immunizations and PE Physical
Immunizations need to be up to date if not done in the 7th grade and a PE physical completed if not done in the 7th grade.
9th Grade: Sports Physical required
In order to participate in sports in 9th and 10th grade, the Idaho High Schools Activities Association requires a physical be obtained in 9th grade. This physical must be completed after May 1st of the student’s 8th grade year.
Immunizations can be obtained through your primary care provider, medical clinic or Central District Health (by appointment 208-327-7450). The Boise School District will also be hosting a drop-in immunization clinic at Whittier Elementary on August 13 from 2-6 pm. Any school age child may get updated immunizations at this clinic. Whittier Elementary School is located at 301 N. 29th St. Boise, ID 83702
Sports physicals are available through your primary care provider, or at the Primary Health or St. Alphonsus clinics in the area for a nominal fee. Forms and additional information is available on the Les Bois School Nurse site.

Food & Nutrition Services
Free school meals for all children through the end of this school year!
Boise School District is pleased to announce the USDA has extended the waiver to provide free meals to all children 1-18 years of age regardless of eligibility status through May 2021 (through the end of the 2020-2021 school year). Children are allowed one free breakfast and one free lunch per day. District enrolled children will have access to meals in their neighborhood schools. Community members and virtual students, including Boise Online School students, who want meals will be directed to our Curbside Meals Program.

Boise School District is pleased to be able to provide free curbside meals for all community children and virtual students 1-18 years old. Meals are available from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday. Check our Curbside Meals page for more details.

Thank you Operation School Supplies (OSS)
ALB is a member of National Assistance League, and they are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that puts caring and commitment into action through philanthropic programs in Ada County. Other ALB programs include Operation School Bell, Teen Retail, History in the Bown House, Cinderella's Closet, Project Hearing, Baby Bundles and Empowering Youth.
Funds for our programs come from community donations, private contributions, grants, and the operation of the ALB Thrift Shop at 5825 Glenwood Avenue. The public is invited to visit their Thrift Shop, and to support their programs by donating good quality used clothing and small household items.
