Rocky Mountain Summit
Of Sex + Intimacy
For decades, sexuality has been seen and understood through the lens of the male perspective. However, as more people share their experience, sexuality is now being understood as complex and unique as a snowflake. Now more than ever, people want and need answers and solutions to help them understand their sexuality as a human experience.
Join friends and colleagues in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah for a unique and once in a lifetime weekend event learning from world renowned sex educators, authors, and researchers Emily Nagoski and Gina Ogden. During this weekend, Emily and Gina will bring together what most conferences and workshops have seperated: science and spirituality.
Using her reserach in science, Emily Nagoskiwill share one central idea that can maximize the sexual well-being of clients, patients, students, and ourselves, even in a world that seems determined to persuade us that we are inadequate, dysfunctional and unlovable. Emily asks: "Could there be a single, universal principle that can transform the sex lives of people of all genital configurations, all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all relationship configurations, all body shapes and sizes, all colors, and maybe even all religions?" She believes there could be, and it’s simply this: Put pleasure at the center of your definition of sexual wellbeing. When pleasure is the starting point, everything else you need will follow. Using psychophysiology, effective neuroscience, and more (even sociology), Emily will show why and how this one simple (but not always easy) trick can transform every human’s sex life… and possibly bring about world peace.
Using her research in spirituality, Gina Ogdenwillexpand our understanding of sex beyond physical performance. We will be able to look more mindfully at how sexual experience manifests in the body, mind, heart, and spirit. You will take home a simple but profound practice that will help you unerringly locate the center of your own sexual desire and wellbeing. Gina will help you access your own internal GPS you can activate whenever you feel lost in the paradoxical dynamics of intimate partnership or derailed by pain, miscommunication, or the “shoulds” and “oughts” in our culture. She invites you to step into the Four Dimensional Wheel of Sexual Experience—an ancient and universal template for exploring the deepest truths of your sexual stories: body, mind, heart, and spirit. The work is safe, moving, collaborative, fun, and often surprising. You can use it immediately with your clients, your partner(s), and most importantly with yourself. Along the way, you may discover that the route to world peace begins by finding peace in your own heart.
Your admission to the Summit also gives you free admission to the preconference safeTALK suicide prevention training. This training will meet the DOPL mandatory three hour continuing education requirment for licensed professionals and will also specifically addresshow to reduce suicidal risk in lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth.
