Oak Ridge Family Focus
January 12th Edition
We had a great week back! Check out some important information below as well as our selfies with our students from our first day back at Oak Ridge!
i-Ready Family Reports
Before break, students took the winter i-Ready diagnostic assessment in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. The i-Ready report looks like this. Here is our informational letter regarding the reports. Your child should be coming home with these reports (in both ELA and Math) by Friday, January 17th. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.
Parenting Partners
Thank you to all of our parents who came to our first Parenting Partners workshop on Friday! We had a fun time and learned together. Our next workshop will be this upcoming Friday. Please see our letter for more information and click here to sign up. We will see you on Friday!
Erin's Law
State law requires public schools to provide education on personal safety, abuse education, and prevention (also known as Erin's Law, or House Bill 6193). Oak Ridge will hold an assembly for students on Tuesday, January 14th during school hours. The assembly, presented by Victor Pacini, is entitled "Be Seen and Heard." Please see our informational letter regarding the event and check out Victor's video to parents.
5Essentials
Parent Survey
We are very close to the required 20% response rate to be included in the school report card! If you have not done so already, we would love your help in completing the quick survey by:
- Visiting https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/
- Typing and selecting “Cook” as the "County."
- Typing Oak Ridge into the "School" field and selecting the school.
Thank you again! We appreciate it!
Student Survey
During the month of January, 4th and 5th grade students will take the 5Essentials Student Survey. Please see this letter for more information.
Have a wonderful week and go Mustangs!

Jan. 9: Exercise for ten minutes. Exercise releases endorphins in your body which make you feel more positive and happy.
Jan. 10: Talk to someone you don’t normally talk to. By doing this, you make a connection with another person which makes both you and the other person feel more positive.
