Don't Forget
Carpool Reminders
- Please use the carpool loop at the front of the school for drop-off and pick-up.
- Please stay in the carpool line. Do not park your car and walk your child across the lanes of traffic, unless you have business in the front office. This not only slows traffic but it is NOT SAFE.
Students must exit and enter the car from the passenger side of the vehicle. No student will be permitted to walk around the front or back of a car for safety reasons. Please make arrangements to ensure the safety of our staff and students.
Please display your carpool tag throughout the duration of afternoon carpool. This helps us expedite the system significantly.
If your child needs assistance buckling up, please pull all the way forward and exit the loading portion of the car line to help your child do so.
We do not dismiss students from the office after 2:15 pm. If you need to sign your student out early, it must be done before 2:15 pm.
Pack your patience as carpool takes a bit longer the first few weeks of school.
Breakfast at School
As a reminder, breakfast and lunch are complimentary for the 2021-2022 school year. Knowing ahead of time will help us plan accordingly. If you would like for your child to receive breakfast at school please email Mrs. Branson at bbranson@richland2.org to be added to the list. Breakfast will be served at 7:35am.
All families should STILL complete the Free/Reduced Lunch Program waiver, as there may be additional services offered through federal options throughout the year!! This is EXTREMELY important!! Use this link for the application.

A message from the CFKN PTA President
Hello CFK North Families!
My name is Heather Lozynski, and I am your PTA President for 2021-2022 school year.
Welcome to a new and exciting year of school and a new year of PTA. The 2021-2022 school year will continue to face unique challenges, please remember the mission of the PTA – to positively change the lives of children and families. Together at CFK North, we support this mission through our wide-ranging efforts by supporting a multitude of school programs, family events, the science teacher position, and directly supporting staff with school resources at CFK North.
If this is your first year at CFK North, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you and your family. Whether a new PTA member or a returning member, we thank you for your contributions, time, and commitment to our organization, our teachers, and most importantly, our students! As a member of the CFK North PTA, you are a voice for our children and part of the largest child advocacy program in the world. It really is a rewarding experience to be a part of!
As I start the third year as your PTA Board Member and newly positioned CFK North PTA President, I am looking forward to continuing the working partnership we have set up with our amazing teachers and staff. We will continue to provide an excellent learning experience for our children with the support of our members. I encourage every one of you to become a part of our team!

Face Coverings Update
District administration has developed an Administrative Rule (ADD-R) that specifies instances in which face coverings are required. These requirements will go into effect Tuesday, August 17 with Fresh Start (high school) and Step Up (middle school) and will continue until further notice. Please see the rule below.
ADD-R FACE COVERING Code ADD(R)
Face coverings, as defined in Policy ADD, are required in the following instances:
Buses
In accordance with the federal requirement (Presidential Executive Order 13998) for face coverings to be worn while on public transportation conveyances, face coverings are required to be worn while boarding, utilizing and deboarding buses.
Healthcare Areas
Per DHEC guidance, locations designated for healthcare, testing or for awaiting pickup due to illness (e.g., health room, athletic trainer office) are considered healthcare facilities. As such, infection control practices are held to health care facility standards and expectations. Therefore, individuals being assessed, tested or dismissed due to respiratory symptoms will wear a face covering while in these designated healthcare areas and also when transitioning to/from these areas.
Visitors
Visitors include, but are not limited to, parents/guardians, contract service providers, and delivery persons. Individuals visiting schools during the school day are required to wear face coverings while indoors. Visitors will be asked to leave district property if they refuse to wear a face covering. Visitors who have trouble breathing and/or those with special healthcare needs as noted by a medical doctor should consult with the principal or his/her designee prior to their arrival on campus.
The board authorizes the superintendent or his/her designee to amend these requirements and advisories as necessary to meet health and safety guidelines.
