Dear Parents,
There is a half day of school on Friday. Students will be dismissed at 11:20 and teachers will be involved in Professional Development for the afternoon.
English
We will work on the non-fiction projects this week and they will be due on Friday.
We will have our usual grammar/vocabulary quiz on Friday as well.
Enrichment Writing
Math
Last week, students were able to finish up the last lesson for Chapter 5 on percents. They have one homework assignment due on Monday. It is Page 305(2-11) & Page 306(1-6). This week, students will be reviewing Chapter 5 and then taking a test on Tuesday/Wednesday. Afterwards, they will be starting chapter 6: Units of measurement.
Enrichment Math
Last week, students had one day of enrichment. We spent time going over some of the questions that students had on the NWEA test. The main focus was how to divide with exponents.
Social Studies
Science
Due to the snow days last week, we will try again this week thinking about what is it that causes the plates to move. This will lead into subduction zones and sea floor spreading. The students will also be learning how various landforms have formed throughout the years due to plate movement.
