Please try and send your child's reading books back to school each Friday!! :)
Books Coming Home on Monday!!
These books have a number on the back- the books are given to your child based on their reading level. Because this is the first time they are receiving leveled books, the books given to them might not be accurate. We will be bumping up levels as we see fit. A child may stay in the same reading level for a month before being bumped up. Please do not pay too much attention to the number, but more so how your child is reading.
- Are they pointing to each word as they read ? Giving each word ONE tap?
- Are they using the pictures to help them figure out unknown words?
- Are they recognizing the snap words that we have learned?
- Are they recognizing the pattern of the book?
These books they bring home SHOULD be easy for your child to read to you. They have read the book multiple times in class, and to myself. They are excited to now read them to you and have you be their reading partner.
Please send the books inside the bag BACK to school on Friday!! Each Monday (sometimes on Tuesday) your child will bring home their bag with a new set of books inside! If they don't bring back their books, they won't be getting new books to bring home. Please help them be responsible and keep the bag in their backpack after they read the books to you.
Books come Home on Monday-- Return books to school on Friday!! :)
