TUMUAKI KŌRERO
Kia ora e te whānau,
It has been fantastic to see the sunshine this week and fully use our fields again after a long wet winter. The school continues to be buzzing with lots of activities. Well done to our learners who spent the last week in Tauranga for AIMES games; you have made our school incredibly proud! Thank you to Jordan Eckhold-Brown, Dionne Moors, and our parent volunteers who have given up their time to coach, manage and support our individual competitors and teams.
School Board Elections: Voting has now closed, and results will be announced on Tuesday, the 13th of September. I want to acknowledge our outgoing School Board members Victoria Mahan, Russ Clements, Kirsten Nevile, John Stenberg, Tony Kelly and Kevin Elmes for their magnificent job over the last three and a half years. Their guidance has helped ensure the school has been well governed, led with skill and composure through a global pandemic and well resourced. Our school is in an excellent position moving forward due to their hard work.
Astro Turf Funding: We are very excited to have received funding from Pub Charity to resurface both netball courts with AstroTurf. This is an exciting project that will make a significant impact on our facilities for learners and our wider community. We are hoping to have this turf installed in late November. We appreciate the support of Pub Charity to make this project possible.
School Sports: As a school, we have numerous sports teams who participate in many after-school sports, and we appreciate the excellent job Dionne Moors does to coordinate these teams and the many parents who coach, manage and support these teams weekly. As a school, we have clear community conduct expectations, and we ask our coaches, managers and supporters to adhere to these at all times and be positive role models for our learners.
Below is a summary of these community conduct expectations. For further information, please refer to SchoolDocs: https://tnis.schooldocs.co.nz/
Takapuna Normal Intermediate School is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Our Code of Conduct serves as a reminder to all parents, caregivers, and school visitors that their conduct must support everyone’s emotional and physical wellbeing and not harm it in any way.
The Code of Conduct applies:
to all conduct, speech, and action, and includes emails, texts, phone calls, social media, or other communication
while on school grounds or at another venue where students and/or staff are assembled for school purposes (such as a camp or sports match).
Standards of conduct: Takapuna Normal Intermediate School expects parents, caregivers, and visitors to:
Treat everyone with respect. Work together in partnership with staff for the benefit of students. Respect and adhere to our school values. Set a good example for students at all times. Follow school procedures to handle any complaints. Adhere to school policies and procedures.

HIGH SCHOOL ENROLMENT INFORMATION
Westlake Girls Transition Interviews
At WGHS, we understand first-hand that good parent-school partnerships are the best way to support our students' learning. In Term 3, we encourage parents of students attending WGHS in 2023 who have additional learning and behavioural needs to start this partnership process now. Please consider booking your daughter's enrolment interview with Mrs Julie Mulcahy, the Head of Learning Enhancement at WGHS. This is an opportunity for you as parents and your daughter to share information about learning needs so we can work together to support a successful transition from intermediate to secondary schooling.
I look forward to meeting our new families and students so we can ensure every student at Westlake is supported, present, participating, learning and belonging in 2023. Please use the following email address enrolments@westlakegirls.school.nz and specify that you want to make an appointment with Julie Mulcahy. This meeting will be for 30mins.

In addition to the lessons here at school, the Music Education Centre offers a wide variety of instruments through its centres outside of school time.

- All black trainers with white soles are acceptable.
