This Week at MHS
Here's what is happening December7th - December 11th
MHS Parents and Students,
Can you believe we are only 7 days away from the start of Winter Break?
The Fall State Testing window continues this week with tests for students that are currently enrolled in Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and United States History. Please reference the calendar on our school website to see the dates for these tests. Due to the paper format provided by the state, all students -including digital- will be required to test at MHS. During this same time frame, students who are taking a State or Local Dual Credit course will also be taking their exams.
Final exams for MHS classes will be December 14th and 15th, even though these days are digital. Students will be expected to digitally attend 1st and 2nd on December 14th, and 3rd and 4th on December 15th.
The Maryville City Schools Foundation (MCSF) announces a new scholarship for Maryville High School graduating seniors in memory of William Boone Dixon (November 24, 1981-May 21, 2020). Mr. Dixon was a beloved teacher, coach, and mentor in the Maryville community and beyond. The scholarship is a collaboration of his family, former student athletes, and Maryville Junior High colleagues. The Boone Dixon Memorial Scholarship will provide scholarships to well-rounded, determined, and compassionate students graduating from MHS who exemplify many of the qualities that made Boone Dixon so special. For scholarship eligibility requirements, please consult the Scholarship page under March due dates in the MHS School Counseling Canvas Page.

MHS will administer the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test January 19, 2021. ASVAB results offer access to excellent career exploration information that can assist students in finding a career that matches their strengths. Participation in the ASVAB does not obligate a student to talk with a military recruiter or consider a military career. If your child would like the take the ASVAB, the registration link is housed on the Daily Announcements webpage and in Canvas. The deadline to register is January 15.
All current 12th graders received the December issue of the MHS Scholarship Newsletter in their email inboxes on Friday, December 4. There are a few scholarships with deadlines quickly approaching including the Science Ambassador Scholarship (12/14/20) for women pursuing a STEM field and the Equitable Excellence Scholarship administered by Scholarship America (12/15/20) for students who intend to pursue higher education. Please refer to the Scholarship page on the MHS School Counseling Canvas site for more information.
