School District of Lancaster launched a new section of the website dedicated to college and career readiness. It includes detailed steps for navigating the college, military, training, and workforce pathways. Resources include helpful planning checklists, application how to videos, and scholarship information.

Students can access the Xello college and career platform anywhere.
- Sign in to Classlink and find the Xello icon
- Log in using your SDoL credentials (Username= ID#@sdlancaster.org, Password=Capital First Initial, Capital Last initial, birthday)

Future Ready Lancaster Lessons Snapshot
Note that these lessons are being delivered in late September.
6th Grade
In this lesson, students will investigate visual, auditory, and tactile learning styles, and explore how understanding their own learning style can help them in school and on the job.
Extending the Learning at Home: Go to educationplanner.org, then select students->self assessments->then learning styles. Complete the activity with your student, then reflect on the results.
7th Grade
In this lesson students will learn about their teachers' education journey and the importance of postsecondary education
Extending the Learning at Home: Ask your student to share what they learned about the value of postsecondary education. Explore some local postsecondary training opportunities with your student. Examples include Millersville, Thaddeus Stevens, Lancaster CTC, Tec Centro, and many more!
8th Grade

In this lesson students will learn about their teachers' education journey and the importance of postsecondary education

The need for Web and Digital Interface Designers is projected to grow 6.7% by 2024 in Lancaster County. This career requires at least an Associate's degree with an entry salary of $40,720 and a median salary of $54,680 in Lancaster County.
Local Postsecondary Training Option
Many local colleges offer training related to the Arts, A/V Technology, and Communications pathway but none more than Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. This 4 year college, located in the heart of Lancaster City, offers degrees in everything from Fine Art to Animation to Photography.
