Federal Government - U.S. Postal Service

Who? - The Federal Government
What? - The U.S. Postal Service carrier controls, sends, and delivers incoming and outgoing mail.
When? - Everyday except Sunday and nationally recognized holidays, as well as during severely dangerous weather.
Where? - The photo is taken in front of a post office.
Why? - It is authorized by the United States Constitution. The USPS began in 1775 during the Second Continental Congress. Benjamin Franklin was appointed the first postmaster general. The Post Office Department was created in 1792. It was transformed into its current form in 1971 under the Postal Reorganization Act.
How? - Mail is a crucial part of American living. It is the way we receive information, through letters, as well as necessary things like some medications. In todays society, online shopping has become a major industry. The U.S. Postal Service is obviously a major source when it comes to delivering and receiving those packages and items. All though the U.S. Postal Service is under federal regulation, there are still some private postal companies such as UPS and FedEx.

State Government - Texas DPS Vehicle Inspection Program

Who? - The State Government
When? - Vehicles must be inspected annually.
What? - The Texas DPS Vehicle Inspection Program certifies vehicle inspectors and inspection stations, monitors and ensures compliance with inspection standards, and supervises vehicle emission programs designed to meet federal clean air requirements.
Where? - The photo was taken in front of an automobile repair shop.
Why? - Car inspections are required and provided for the safety of the people and drivers.This ensures that the automobiles are working correctly so that a malfunction or problem can not occur and put people’s lives in danger. Not only does this make sure that the cars are working safely, but efficiently. This law is also to check that the automobiles are not producing an excessive amount of pollution.
How?- Car inspections are important because they increase the safety of the automobiles on the road.If cars and not working correctly they can be potentially dangerous to other drivers on the road and to the environment. If this law was not in place than cars breaking down or having malfunctions would occur more often and create more accidents, putting people’s lives in danger.

Local Government - Coppell Police Department

Who? - The Local Government
When? - Everyday
What? - To reduce perceived suspicions and misconceptions while forming a bond with the police and the community, and when faced with these issues to deal with them and insure the safety of the community.
Where?- This photo was taken in front of the Coppell Police Department
Why?- Crime and law breaking puts the community at risk and dangers the lives of the people in the community, the police are necessary to insure their safety and put an end to whatever is causing the issue.
How? - They have the ability to arrest those who are violating the law and are able to give out citations to those who are breaking the law in anyway. This affects me if I speed or break the law and insures my safety of anyone else is doing so. Without this we would have a dangerous community and crime would be a very common thing.
