Trussville Methodist Kids Ministry
Family Connect week of 10.15.18
Wednesday Night LIVE
Join us from 6:15-7:15 pm upstairs in the children's building. We'll be making Boo bags that we'll hand out to our neighbors/friends inviting them to our upcoming Trunk or Treat.
Wednesday nights are a great time to connect with our kids ages 3K-5th grade! Remember that person at church that you learned from? The man/woman that told Bible stories, led games, or assisted? We need adults of any age to assist! We need at least 1 additional adult each Wednesday night. Won't you join us a time or two? Sign up below:
Move Build Grow this Sunday, October 21 @4:30pm
For the next few weeks we'll be talking to your kids about being thankful for what God has given them. This Sunday we'll discuss being thankful for our friends. When things are going great, friendship is easy. It's those tough times that we find out who our true friends are. I hope your kids will come join us. We meet upstairs in the children's building. Gathering begins at 4:30 pm. We have fun learning through games/activities, music and Bible study.
Trunk or Treat Sunday, October 28th, 5-7 pm
Candy donations can be dropped off at the bin guarded by John Wesley located near the church offices.

NIGHT OF SERVICE 11/7
Everyone is invited to take part our first ever Night of Service on Wednesday, November 7th. As a church family we will participate in 2 service mission projects, Together We Rise and Operation Christmas Child. We’ll kick off night with a potluck dinner starting at 5:30 pm. After eating we will get to work our mission projects. This a church-wide effort, no drop off children or youth, please. What a great way to kick off the Christmas season with your family and church friends!
Together We Rise is a service mission project dedicated to helping children entering foster care. When children are taken from their families and put into emergency foster homes, all they are able to take with them is a garbage bag and a few of their belongings. We want to help by giving these children a bag decorated for them. Stencils and paint markers will be provided for you and your family, circle, Sunday school class or other group to decorate the bags. We will be decorating and filling 50 bags!! We will fill the bags with a teddy bear, coloring book/crayons, blanket, a book of the Christmas story, and a hygiene kit.
Operation Shoe Box is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization providing children around the world shoe boxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Everyone is asked to collect their shoe box items IN ADVANCE and bring them to our Night of Service to pack in shoe boxes provided by the church. Our goal is to pack 50 shoe boxes. Suggestions on what to purchase for shoe box packing can be found at this link https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/what-goes-in-my-shoebox-suggestions/. Operation Shoe box brochures can be found outside of Beth Burden’s office, located near the Fellowship Hall.
