Math- Students will continue to work on their "Important Book" Project. This project has students picking one topic from each unit we have study thus far this year. Students will create a book page explaining the chosen topic and its most important quality. This project is based off of the structure of the childrens book, "The Important Book". Students will use their math notebooks to complete three pages (one from each unit) for their class' Important Book! Their three pages are due today!
Science- Students will be graphing pictures of the holiday season by following a set of data points, plotting them, and connecting them. Have a great break!
Social Studies-Using computers to research current events involving the Bill Of Rights. Students had to read and analyze the article plus write a summary
English Language Arts - Today students are finishing thier work on their infographic projects. This assignment will go in as a test grade, so I have emphasized to the students that it is a major part of their 2nd qtr grade.
Snow Closure and Delay Communication Reminder
North Kansas City Schools provides several ways for you to get the latest information on district school closings, including early release or a two-hour delayed start on days when weather is hazardous:
In case inclement weather causes the district to delay school start times or cancel classes for the day, these are the ways that information is communicated to the public:
1. District Website: www.nkcschools.org provides the first notification of school closings and other cancellations within minutes of a decision.
2. SchoolMessenger: Phone, email and optional text messages are sent to school families when classes are canceled, delayed or students are released early.
3. Social Media: We will post information at www.facebook.com/NKCSchools and www.twitter.com/NKCSchools.
4. Radio & TV: Local stations share announcements on-air and on their websites.
For those who received a letter this fall from Transportation regarding snow routes, alternate routes have been posted on the Transportation page at: http://www.nkcschools.org/transportation.
