CANNED FOOD DRIVE
Our GOAL is to collect 1,000 cans of food for the Salvation Army Community Food Drive. With nearly 1,000 students at Bidwell, if each student (and staff member!) brings at least one can of food, we can exceed this goal. Bring your cans to your First Period class to be counted. All donated cans will go to the Salvation Army Community Food Drive and be used to feed our local homeless and hungry. Let's show Bidwell cares!!
CJSF students can earn community service credit for donating to the canned food drive! Have your teacher sign a community service slip or show an advisor the cans you brought in to get service credit!
COOKIE DOUGH DELIVERY TIME!
LIMO LUNCH
Our Limo Lunch will happen on Thursday, November 16th. All students who qualified will receive a permission slip on Monday. They must have a signed permission slip to attend. Remember if you sold 20 orders or more on the FIRST DAY you get to BRING A FRIEND!!
ARE YOU MISSING YOUR PLANNER?
BLAST UPDATE
- We are still the owners of the BLAST trophy we defeated Chico Junior all 3 times in Dodgeball! They put up a good battle, but we came out on top! Next sport is Basketball. The kids are excited about this next season.
- We had our carnival and all the students were so amazing, full of leadership and spirit. That is always a very proud day to see students problem solving and working together to have fun!
- Impact mentoring is now back on campus. We have around 15 students involved in this program where they get to hang out with High Schoolers and just get to talk and do activities (really just learning from the small interactions) This is a great program for students.
- Chico State came by last week and talked with our students about college and what it takes to get there. The kids had some great questions and participated in all the activities. It was fun to see them be so respectful to those presenters and to be so interested in the future of college.
- BLAST Pioneer Production Club is in full force! We are learning how to use I-Movie editor and how to just record things properly. We are hoping to have a production put together by December for your viewing!
That is just a snapshot of the extra fun stuff we have been up to. But every day the students come to BLAST and get straight to homework hour and then do an amazing job during activities! We have a very special crew this year.
