From the Principal

BRHS Families,

As we wind down the first quarter, please be reminded to check Student Vue and Parent Vue for updated gradebook information. It is important to acknowledge that opening school at a distance and distance learning has presented many challenges for everyone. It is also important to acknowledge the significant and positive work of our students and teachers who are doing their best given the circumstances.

We are continuing to adjust as new information and guidance becomes available. This includes Hybrid stages as outlined by LCPS, as well as phased guidance for various activities. When the second quarter starts on Nov 4, we will shift to and ABAB schedule, with Mondays remaining the same, for asynchronous work. Wednesday November 4 will be an ‘B’ day.

Congratulations to Nicholas Mitchell and Alex Rodriguez for being selected as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Also, congratulations to our seniors who were recognized as ‘commended’. A picture is on the BRHS twitter handle, on the BRHS web site.

Finally, please be sure to check our "school updates" link on the BRHS web site.

Thank you, again, for all of your support as part of our Broad Run community.

News from the BRHS Music Department

The Broad Run High School Orchestra program and music department would like to congratulate the following students for their acceptance into the 2020 VBODA North Central Regional Orchestra: Adrian Chueng (violin), Michael Chou (viola), Jessica Jiang (principal cello), and Jeremy Oh (violin) successfully completed virtual auditions to be accepted to this prestigious ensemble. Although there will be no live event this year, these musicians have now qualified to audition for All-Virginia Orchestra in February. We are so proud of them for taking on this challenge!
