HLSR Day-10/19
We are fortunate to have visitors from the education committee with the HLSR. They will have lots of different sessions for our students.
- Please review expectations for behavior with a presenter. Please actively monitor behavior closely.
- 1st-4th grade students will follow a rotations schedule from 9:00-2:00. There will not be specials classes for 1st-4th grade. Specials teachers will be assigned to a group except during Kinder Specials (locations for kinder specials will be communicated by specials teachers).
- Teachers will be grouped in pairs. You can relieve each other, as long as one teacher stays with the group. Both teachers need to be present to rotate the group to the next station.
Lunch Schedule:
Grades will eat in classrooms or hallways. Recess can be determined by Content Leaders organizing this together.
11:15-Kinder ** Students will enter quietly as a presentation will be going on.

Classroom Libraries
If you would like to have input into ordering books for classroom libraries, please meet me in the library 10/17 at 3:45. We will look at budget and gather information about areas we need to address.
Switch Day
Have you ever wanted to teach another grade level? Are you brave enough to "Try Everything?" If so, November 13th is your day...are you ready for it? For teachers who are interested, we are going to switch classrooms from 8:30-2:30. You will follow the other class plans and gain lots of great information. To top it off, you will get to meet lots more Raccoons. If you are interested, please sign up on the door to Mrs. Stewart's office by October 31st.
Something to Ponder
The left side of our brain is our logical, fact based side where we filter verbal messages we receive throughout our day. We decide what seems logical to us and what doesn't. This is the side that discounts good messages being told to us. It is where our negative self-talk lives. This is the side that makes it hard for you to take a compliment and you immediately begin either telling yourself or the other person all the ways their compliment is wrong.
The right side of our brain, on the other hand, is our artsy side. It takes information in without having to make too much sense of them. The right brain appreciates things on a holistic level. It can find the beauty in ways the left side never will. It is our imagination side and the side the allows us to dream big.
The one modality that allows us to take messages in without filtering them out is music. We get subconscious messages through music that can build us up or tear us down. What are the messages you are getting through your music choices? What about our students? What messages are they hearing? Are they positive? If you want to build a child up play music that fills their mind with good messages.
