PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Please help us encourage students to celebrate the holidays and vacation responsibly. IHS is proud to announce the inaugural Uplift Club with the goals to reduce stigma and increase awareness related to mental health and substance abuse. Their December motto, "If you feel different, drive different" will be posted around IHS next week and then after break they will add, "Mental Health is not an adjective."
If your student in interested in learning more about this club and/or participating, please encourage them to attend the meeting on December 21st, @ 7:15am; Ms. Synder will bring the students to their meeting location.
On behalf of IHS, we wish you and your family a happy holiday season and joyous New Year!
JANUARY REGENTS; CLASSES CONTINUE CONCURRENTLY
January Regents will occur the week of January 23rd. The January Regents are scheduled for students who have completed a full year of a course, attempted the exam in June or August and need another opportunity to show proficiency.
The majority of students will take Regents exams in June. If your student is taking a course for the first time, they will not be registered for Regents exams until June. We will share more information regarding June Regents review, schedule and planning later in the year.
If your student has not yet found success on a Regents exam and is scheduled to take the exam in January, a teacher or school counselor will communicate their testing date, time and location prior to our winter break.
NHS BLOOD DRIVE
The National Honor Society will be holding a blood drive on December 16th from 8am-2pm in the auditorium. Students have to be at least 16 years old and have a parent permission form filled out, which they can get from Ms. Casetta in counseling (17- and 18-year-old students do not need a parent permission form). This is closed to the public and only for IHS Students and Staff.

Please encourage students to report any concerns to an adult at school in addition to sharing with you. If your child wishes to remain anonymous but should report a concern, encourage them to complete the Safe School Helpline form using the link below or through the app. Reporting with as many factual details as possible will help our administrators follow up with individuals in a timely manner.
