Project Yum: Improving school lunch one bite at a time

In May of last year, we tested new recipes at Hallinan Elementary. The new recipes reflect more house-made items, more items sensitive to dietary restrictions, and more organic choices. The test program was a success, and many of those recipes will be served district-wide this year. Lunches come with salad bar featuring organic spring mix, organic baby carrots and organic whole apples from Hood River Organics and milk. Pictured is our new rice and bean dish - a daily choice that is made with organic rice and beans. Yum!

Regular & Repeated Reminders

If parents are ever concerned about a student’s well-being, feel free to reach out to your principal. It is important to keep your lines of communication open and maintain strong partnerships between students, families, staff, and other resources.

SafeOregon is also an effective way to report a tip regarding safety threats or potential acts of violence to our students or schools.

(Students should also know that intentionally providing a false report is a serious offense.)
