Early Life
- He was baptized 3 days after he was born at the Holy Trinity Church.
- He was the third child of six.
- He qualified for free tuition from King's New School.
Married Life
- Married Anne Hathaway on November 28, 1582 at 18 years old.
- Their first child Susanna on May 26, 1583.
- The couple had twins, Hamnet and Judith, on February 2, 1585.
- Hamnet died from unknown causes at the age of 11.
- After the twins were born, there were 7 years where no records can be found. Also known as "the Lost Years."
- He arrived in London in the mid- to late 1580's to work as a horse attendant at London's finest theaters.
Career
- In 1592 he was an actor and play writer in London.
- Early 1590's he was a managing partner in the Lord Chamberlain's Men.
- By 1597, 15 out of 37 plays written were published.
- He bought the second largest house in Stratford for his family, called the New House, but he spent most of his time in the city because of the 4 day horse ride.
- In 1599 Shakespeare and his business partners built their own theater on the S. Bank of Thames River called, "The Globe."
- In 1605, Shakespeare purchased leases of real estate in Stratford for 440 lbs., which doubled in value and earned him 60 lbs. a year.
