The Lion's Share Newsletter
April Edition
From the Desk of Mr. Miller:
Welcome back from spring break! I hope you had a restful time and were able to recharge. I do believe in having a strong balance of working hard and playing hard, and I sincerely hope you found some time to play! As for me, I spent some quality time with my wife and son, was able to catch up with friends, and spent a day at work prepping for the end of the year!
Speaking of the school year ending, our upcoming schedule in April and May has some pretty great things taking place! As you know, we love having parents and guardians join us for activities and field trips. One very important thing to be aware of, however, is ensuring you have filled out a volunteer form at least 7 days prior to the event taking place! In order to volunteer your time, you must have a volunteer form on file that has been cleared! Unfortunately, if you haven't been cleared by D11, you won't be able to volunteer or attend the school event. So, please be sure to get your form turned in as soon as possible! Just stop by the office and ask for the volunteer form!
Do you know of a family looking to enroll their student into a great school? We will be holding our annual Kindergarten Registration Day on Monday, April 29th! During this time, we ask that new families stop by to fill out the enrollment paperwork and to bring their new Lion with them. We will have staff on hand to help assess our new students for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year!
Finally, I have been working to meet with our students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade individually to help motivate them for the upcoming CMAS testing. We have been setting personal goals and talking about great strategies that will help them be successful during their testing. The conversations have been great and the students are excited to show what they know! As I have stated previously, I am going to ask for your help. I would like to ask that you have your students here each day and on time. The testing window will run from Monday, April 8th through Friday, April 19th for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. Any make up tests will be given during the week of April 22nd - 26th. I have no doubt our students are going to do their very best!
Thank you for your time and your partnership!
