Principal's Message
The summer has flown by! Our amazing and dedicated teachers and staff arrived back to school on August 27th. Mr. Jim Mills, a Clinton alumnus, welcomed our teachers back to school. It is always a pleasure to have Jim at Clinton and to hear his stories about the school and the neighborhood. We are fortunate and grateful to have such a generous and giving graduate.
Teachers then had a week of meetings where they collaborated and planned for this year. We are excited to welcome back two Clinton graduates as diverse learners teachers this year - Mrs. Mariam Michael Toma and Mrs. Jennifer Nguyen Estrada. They will now be teaching alongside some of the very teachers that motivated them to pursue a career in education. We also welcome Ms. Rachel Witkov and Ms. Jeanne-Marie Greiner to our diverse learners team and Ms. Emma Macmillan to our 8th grade team. In addition, we welcome Ms.Heather Roche as a special education classroom assistant. Everyone is excited about the year and cannot wait to meet their new students.
The building looks very different from last week. Teachers and staff have been cleaning, organizing, and decorating their rooms and hallways. The construction crews have continued their work and finished painting the first floor. The building is now just awaiting the students!
The first day of school is September 4th. We are honored to be welcoming Chicago's First Lady Amy Rule on the first day. She will be at Clinton to welcome our staff, students, and parents to a new year. On Wednesday we will welcome Alderman Patrick O'Connor who will be at Clinton to celebrate the beginning of the school year and will help us distribute a special surprise to our students. We are delighted and honored to have the First Lady and Alderman visit us in the coming week!
Sincerely,
Maureen Delgado

Support Students in Small Group Learning
Her students benefit from primarily small group learning in order to maximize opportunities for repeated practice with new skills, reading comprehension, and guided math. Working in small groups at a teacher table allows more shy and/or quiet students an opportunity to speak up confidently and encourage risk-taking. The tabletop easel allows students to access a whiteboard with teacher while working on vocabulary, spelling patterns, and planning for writing. The kidney table and tabletop easel will support her students in small group learning as well as group projects. It will give them a space to work closely with a teacher so they can receive feedback and support while learning.
Please support our teacher by making a donation to this valuable project. https://www.donorschoose.org/project/support-students-in-small-group-learning/3557570/
