So much Active Learning Happening at Southview!
Labour Updates in LDSB
ETFO has also indicated that if the government does not address critical issues by January 17, 2020, ETFO members will begin rotating strikes beginning January 20, 2020. While we have no further information on what this might look like for families in Limestone, it may be prudent for families to begin seeking alternative arrangements for child care should rotating strikes occur. The Board will be given five days notice should strike action take place.

Bus Expectations for a Safe Ride
We ask that families take some time to go over the expectations while riding the school bus. Behaviour on the bus is an extension of the same expectations that we have for them at school, or that you have for them at home. Failure to not comply may result in a student being removed from the bus. It is then up to the family to arrange their own transportation to and from school.
Our goal is that for each student to follow the expectations below so that everyone can have a safe and enjoyable bus ride.
We thank you for your support with this.
• Take your seat promptly and sit properly, facing forward at all times.
• Place bags and backpacks on your on your lap.
• Keep the aisle of the bus clear at all times.
• Windows should only be opened with the permission of the driver.
• Always keep your head, hands and arms inside the bus.
• Throwing objects inside or outside of the bus is not permitted.
• Talk quietly; the driver needs to concentrate to safely drive the bus.
• Fighting, shouting, or use of obscene language is not permitted.
• Be absolutely quiet when approaching a railroad crossing.
• Participate in all bus evacuation training procedures.
• Dangerous, disturbing, or annoying objects are not permitted on the bus.

HEAD LICE and how to SOLVE this PROBLEM
Tips to help stop the spread of headlice:
1) do not share hats
2) put hats in sleeve coats when not wearing them
3) pull long hair back in ponytails
4) use tea tree oil shampoo or products
5) use hairspray
6) do not share hairbrushes or combs
Diligent checking, using treatment products and pulling out ALL nits is the best way to get rid of headlice. Treatments are to be done twice to ensure that the lifecycle stops. See below for more information.
