The Library - Check It Out!
The library is off to a busy start this year. We are circulating over 1,000 books per week! Help is always needed and appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Mrs. Haynes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The start of the 2nd six weeks brought the kick-off of Mastery Club! This optional program encourages students to get their names on the "Wall of Fame" by mastering at least sixteen of the eighty-six challenges listed. Details on this program can be found on the the library webpage on the Williams website at www.aisd.net/williams.
Students in grades three through six are encouraged to participate in the year's Bluebonnet Reading Program. Students who read at least five of the nominated books are eligible to participate in the statewide voting process which selects this year's winning book! Voting will take place in January. The Bluebonnet Reading List can be found at http://www.txla.org/TBA-nominees.
Fourth and fifth grade students, who are interested in trying-out for Battle of the Books, should begin reading NOW! In January, a quiz over all eight of the books will be given. The students who earn the top four scores in each grade will be invited to represent our school at the district-wide Battle of the Books competition!
