Mondays From The Mesa # 20
Alta Mesa Parent Newsletter (11/16/2020)
We Are Thankful For You
We have arrived at the conference week! This is an incredibly important time for you to connect with your child's teacher and talk about their progress. During these challenging times, your partnership with teachers is integral to your child's success. This year our conferences will be virtual and our teachers will be not only going over your child's progress but also what the next month will look like in their classroom.
Speaking of the next month, on Friday our district announced that all Enterprise Elementary Schools will be moving to Distance Learning from November 30th to January 8th. This is due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in our county. While our safety protocols have been successful in stemming the spread of COVID-19 within the context of school, our area is experiencing a surge that schools must take into consideration. It is with safety in mind that our district moves to distance learning for the aforementioned time period. The district announcement video is attached below.
During the period of time, we will be in distance learning our teachers will be working to make sure our students have the best experience possible. Our newsletter will be more important than ever to review as our school newsletter as our instruction will be virtual for the next four weeks of instruction.
I want to take a moment to tell the entire Alta Mesa community that I am thankful for each and every one of you. Through these challenging times, I have seen such resiliency and partnership from our group of parents, students, and staff. In this season of Thanksgiving, I will be counting my blessings and one of the biggest is the opportunity to be a part of Alta Mesa.
Thank you everyone and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break.

District Update 11/13/20
It's Conference WEEK!!!
It's just unbelievable to think, but we are 1/3 of the way through the school year! Our conferences will look a bit different this year as all conferences are going to be done virtually. Our teachers have set up conferences throughout this week. There will be two ways to conduct conferences. The first, and preferred way, is through Google Meets. We can also do conferences via phone if you are not able to conference via Meets. Teachers will send home children's report cards and a form called an "Educational Compact." The "Educational Compact" is tied to our school funding and it is very important that this form is signed and returned to school. If you have not set up a conference it's not tool late! Contact your child's teacher, and get one scheduled.
If you have any questions about conferences please call the office or contact your teacher.
