A Note from Jen and Jane

Welcome back!!! We have been very busy this summer preparing for the 2015-2016 school year. Some highlights include:

  • Hosting Olga Nesi as she shared the Process Portfolio and Book Hooks and Appeal Terms
  • Converting MARC records to RDA for our Union Catalog and for all schools in our Library Automation CoSer
  • Planning professional learning opportunities for the coming school year
  • Purchasing NYLA memberships for all school librarians within Questar III component districts
  • Creating a mentor program for all new librarians with the expertise of Sharon Davis
  • Adding magazines to our OverDrive collection
  • Purchasing Rosen's newest set of interactive eBooks - Spotlight on American History
  • And so much more!!!

Please be sure to return the directory form if you have any updates with your name, email, location, etc.

ENYSLMA Renewals

SSL Call for Proposals

The 2016 SSL Conference, hosted by ENYSLMA, will be May 5-7 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany. Workshop proposals are now being accepted. A link to the Call for Presentations form can be found on the conference site at http://www.ssl2016albany.org/.

OverDrive Periodicals

We've added periodical subscriptions to our OverDrive account!!! To check out magazines, log into your OverDrive account, hover over the collections tab, and select magazines. We currently offer:
  • American Girl
  • National Geographic
  • National Geographic Kids
  • Newsweek
  • Smithsonian
  • Wired
  • Zoobooks

Magazines are simultaneous use - your students can all access the same magazine at the same time. Only the most recent issue is available and can be downloaded through OverDrive using your Nook app. Please contact Jane or Jen if you have questions or need help.
