23 September 2021 school newsletter
Term 1
Weekly events
Hello all,
As we end another week of learning at school for Secondary and online learning for Early Years and Primary, I just want to take some time to update everyone on some of the many different aspects that have been happening at school.
This week we started snacks and lunches with our new catering company. The students and staff love the food, which is great.
Yesterday we had our first Discovery Afternoon for Early Years and Primary. A chance for Parents to see how we teach, using our different tools. We have recorded some of these sessions in case you missed out and will be sharing this very soon.
For Primary Parents who need some additional help with Active Learn, we will be offering a session on this soon. If you need support now, please feel free to contact your Homeroom Teacher, who will be more than happy to help you understand better, the different functions of Active Learn.
Next Wednesday is the Secondary Parents turn for a Discovery Afternoon. We ask that all parents use the sign up sheet below to book a spot. This Discovery Afternoon is intended to help you understand the expectations for our students as they move through the different years.
As part of Literacy Month, the students had a chance to share their own books, book covers, songs and poems last week. The Teachers where really impressed with the effort from all of our students. You will see below, the winners from last weeks literacy month competition. Because we are so impressed by the work we have even created a section in the library for published books from our students, so that other students can read their stories.
Our PTA committee had their first get together yesterday, with plans already in place to support the school in upcoming celebrations.
Please share with your children the student handbook at the bottom of this newsletter. It has information relevant to the different areas of the school that is important.
Have an enjoyable long weekend.
