Chester Elementary School

2018-2019 School Year Off to a Great Start!

Monday Morning Meeting

CES held its first Monday Morning Meeting (MMM), a tradition initiated eight years ago to build school community, enhance communication and recognize students for exceeding expectations in academics and/or behavior. MMM starts the week off with a brief 10-20 minute gathering in the gymnasium at the start of the school day. This past Monday, topics included introductions, weather from Ms. Klimek and Ms. Geer, being responsible from Ms. O'Kelley and Ms. Crowther and being responsible, safe and respectful from Ms. Cardona and Ms. Twitchell . The 6th graders concluding the event by leading the students in singing the school song.

Excellent start to 2018-2019!

We had an outstanding first week (3 days) of school as we welcomed all of our students back for the 2018-2019 school year. Students have been respectful, safe and responsible, and are learning what that looks and sounds like at Chester Elementary. On Wednesday evening, nearly 3/4 of the parents joined the CES teachers for back to school night to learn more about the school year, the teachers' expectations and the exciting events planned for the upcoming school year.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. Together, we can partner to provide an exceptional educational experience for all of our students.

CES Welcomes New Team Members

We are excited to welcome new Resource Specialist teacher, Ms. Stephanie Preston, new 1st grade teacher Mr. Blair Beilby and new administrative assistant, Ms. Nicole Peterson, to CES. Ms. Preston worked at CES previously as a para-educator, and more recently joined the CES team from Lassen County. Mr. Beilby was a substitute teacher last year, where he established positive relationships with students and staff. Ms. Peterson joins us from Chester High School where she served as the registrar for the past ten years. We are fortunate to have all three of these exceptional individuals working with our students each day.
