TZ Building Update!

I am thrilled to be able to send this message out as all of the TZ family is ready to get back to the TZ Experience. While we are so thankful for the hospitality of all of the staff and students at the other GSCS schools, it is time to be back to our TZ home. As Mr. Hubble indicated in his recent message all of our students and staff will be back to TZ on Monday, October 1. TZ students will continue at our relocation sites as we have been for tomorrow, Thursday, September 27.

As a part of this transition, TZ students will have an e-learning day on Friday, September 28 to allow staff time to get things ready for students to transition back to TZ on Monday, October 1. This is a day where students will not report to school, rather they will complete their work at home or other location. To make this easier for all involved, we are sending home a detailed letter and a small packet with students tomorrow, Thursday, September 27. A copy of this letter will also be posted on the TZ webpage. http://tz.greencastle.k12.in.us/ The work from this day will be due on or before Wednesday, October 3. Teachers will be available to answer questions by email between 9:00 and 2:00. Please allow 30 min. for a response from the teacher.

Please see attached information about and update on TZ after school activities.

We are delighted to welcome all TZ students back to TZ on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Take good care!

Jon Strube

Volunteer in the Classroom, Eat Lunch, or Field Trip--Need Background Check On File--Good for One Year

Greetings TZ Parents/Guardians!

At TZ we appreciate parents/guardians that would like to volunteer to assist in the classrooms and/or go on field trips. As a part of any volunteer activity, we must have a cleared background check on file for each person wanting to assist here at school or accompany a class on a field trip. New this year, we will require anyone going beyond the office that will have any interaction with students to have a cleared background check on file. Also new this year for all GCSC schools, a background check expires at the end of the school year, and a new background check will need to be completed at the start of the new school year.

I wanted to take time to clarify the limited/volunteer background checks. These background checks are free to our volunteers. A limited/volunteer background check is only good for one calendar year. If a volunteer wishes to continue volunteering after one year, they must submit a new application.

A link to the form that needs to be completed and turned in to the TZ office is below. You may also come by the school to complete the form. We do need to have a copy of your driver’s license to process the request.

Again, we appreciate your willingness to volunteer.

Mr. Strube

Now is the time to ENROLL or RECONNECT your Kroger Plus Card to Help Earn FREE Dollars for TZ

For those that already have a Kroger account and a linked Kroger Plus Card

Note: Each December you will need to reconnect your Kroger Plus Card to the organization you wish to support. If you have already connected your Kroger Plus Card to TZ, we ask that you take a few minutes to reconnect your card to continue to support TZ.

Are you looking for an easy (no extra cost way) to HELP TZ?

If so...you may send in these to help TZ earn dollars for our school.

We are looking for a few good men to volunteer their time at TZ.

Men can play an important role in the lives of our students. Please consider volunteering an hour of your time each month to help students, and support TZ. We are looking for volunteers to help welcome students as they start their day, provide classroom support, and help with special events and spirit days. If you are willing to help, please fill out the form below. If you have questions, please contact Jon Strube at jstrube@greencastle.k12.in.us. Any men interested in volunteering would need to have a current background check on file. Please request a background check form from the TZ office or you may go to printable forms on the TZ webpage to print your own form.
