Greetings All -
Happy New Year!! It was great to see everyone this past week! I missed all of you! I hope everyone's Christmas holidays were amazing! Mine were filled with family, friends, a trip to Red River, NM, celebrating mine and Donovan's two year anniversary, and being called on New Year's Day by Kenny (Morgan's boyfriend) to ask my "permission" to marry Morgan! It has been a whirlwind holiday to say the least, and in 9 days (or sooner) I will be welcoming another grandchild into the world...this time in Louisiana!
I hope that you have enjoyed "easing" back into our school year. I have heard good remarks from all that went on the past three days. I hope it was all beneficial to you and you can use it all.
I am so sorry that we had to discontinue our Mid-Year Conferences today. I had a meeting in Central Office this afternoon. We will pick up with those next week at some point. Don't worry...we will get them done. :)
Don't forget that the Central Office is sponsoring a jeans week this coming week and the proceeds benefit the Sunshine Center here in Anderson. Make sure you get your $5 to Margaret if you want to wear jeans.
As some of you may know, the A-F ratings for Texas schools came out this past week. It is not an "official" rating this year. It is just a preliminary rating based on last year to give us an idea of "where we are." I have shared the ratings summary sheet with you in Google Docs. We will go over it a little more as I more fully understand it. THIS is what I understand already, however. This new system is a flawed system, no one fully understands it at this point, and YOU ALL are doing an incredible job! Keep pushing forward. Keep delivering engaging lessons. Keep bettering yourselves so you can give our students your best. In my eyes, that will make all of you A+ teachers.
I am excited to begin the second semester with all of you. I couldn't ask for a better group to spend my days with! :)
Love to all,
Marcy
