Principal's Message
As we begin a new month and start our 2/4/6 classes this week, we are beginning to look forward to the next school year, which means registering for classes. Over the course of this month, students will work on different tasks to help them request classes next year that they are interested in taking, help them towards graduation, and prepare them for a successful transition to work or college after leaving MHS.
It is important for students to know how their interests, skills, and knowledge connect to possible career interests and to take time to create or revise their high school course plan when thinking about which classes to request for the 2021-2022 school year. Students will be getting further information in their Homeroom and be asked to complete some of the work at home which will include talking to their parent/guardian about class options. Our current seniors will be using some of this Homeroom time to finalize their senior presentations which they will be presenting April 22, 2021.
For current sophomores and juniors interested in Running Start opportunities, there will be an evening Zoom meeting later this month. It is important for the student and the parent/guardian to attend this session.
If you have questions either about registration, our current hybrid schedule or anything else related to what is taking place at MHS, please contact me by email at dforbes@meridian.wednet.edu or by phone at 360-398-8111.
Stay healthy. Stay strong. Go Trojans.

Mark Your Calendar for Picture Day! March 15th and March 17th
MAP Testing for Freshmen
All freshman will be MAP testing Monday, March 1st through Thursday, March 4th from 9 - 11am on their remote learning day.
Monday, March 1:
Cohort B is remote and will test from 9 - 11 on Math
Tuesday, March 2:
Cohort B is remote and will test from 9 - 11 in Reading
Wednesday, March 3rd:
Cohort A is remote and will test from 9 - 11 on Math
Thursday, March 4th:
Cohort A is remote and will test from 9 - 11 in Reading
Students can find the zoom link for their MAP testing in their homeroom google classroom.
RALF
RALF stands for Remote Attendance Learning Form and is required for all students to complete on their non-campus days. This would be the two days their cohort is assigned to be home and on Fridays.
Each teacher has a link to the RALF in their google classroom. We have also provided a link here to the google form. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfTR8ZCRJJKcx4dr5OirHXt_MMjq-7DfyMeuwMeZYsgarna0A/viewform .
Students need to fill out the form for each class they are currently taking. The form needs to be filled out before noon each day to count as being present in classes. If not completed by noon, the student is marked absent for that class period. Students do not need to fill one out for Homeroom as that class is only offered in person.
