Curriculum Night is Wednesday!
6:00 - 6:30 – Ice cream social (toppings provided by Social Studies department)
6:30 – 6:45 – Message from principal and Randy – Parent Portal, Canvas – MAC
6:45 – 7:30 – Students bring iPad and roam at-will, realizing that signatures = opportunities for their teacher to get a gift card!
Rooms should have –
1. Slide show or video playing in the background of what’s been going on in classroom.
2. Students and parents will come in, starting at 6:45-ish. They will have a chance to meet the teacher, look at what they’ve been doing in class, ask questions, and set up conference if more time is needed to talk.
PSAT - Don't Forget!!
Tardy Policy - important to read!
tardy bell - 15 minutes into class: tardy
16 minutes after tardy bell - dismissal bell: absent
There have been rumors or perhaps factual accounts of this rule being 20 minutes, but we all need to be on the same page and it's up to 15 minutes, tardy and over 15 absent.
Also, COUNT STUDENTS TARDY. If you don't give them a reason to be on time, many of them will not.
START CLASS WITH A MEANINGFUL, NOT TEACHER-DIRECTED ASSIGNMENT. If you don't give them a reason to be on time...yada, yada, yada. But, it also gives you some time to take attendance and take up homework and do other class management-things (and it's Harry Wong-endorsed, so it must be a good idea).

CIP - Where do we go from here?
You also were to start looking at the data.
The next meeting, you will answer all the questions on your comprehensive needs assessment.
Then, you will review the need for each of the existing strategies...are they appropriate? Do they address the needs you discovered when you completed the needs assessment?
So, you will come up with a new and improved plan and a member of your team will present it to the Campus Education Improvement Committee. From there, the CEIC will make recommendations on which of the strategies deserve priority (because there is only so much time and money to go around).
And next year, we follow the same process. Continuous School Improvement...it's what's for dinner!
