Victory Day

Every year on May 9th they celebrate Victory Day. A holiday celebrating all the services members and people who were in WWII. They hold parades, fireworks and have military solutes.


Russia has many different foods than we do.

Russian Pelmeni- They are poached pastries filled with meat.

Abzhorka- It is a Russian salad made of veggies and mayo.

Ossetrina Pod Syrom- The main ingredient being surgeon fish.

Tourist Destinations

Lake Baikal

Lake Baikal is the largest and oldest lake in the world. It holds 20% of earths unfrozen fresh water.

Trans-Siberian Railroad

Trans-siberian railroad is a fun thing to do with your family. You can take a lunch tour. You travel through 10 different time zones and 2 continents.

St Basil Cathedral

St Basil Cathedral is a very interesting place to visit. It has a lot of history behind it and it is absolutely beautiful.

Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis is a popular actress in America but she is in fact Russian. She starred in the hit, "That 70's Show" when she was a teen.

Alexey Lenov

He was the first person to ever complete a space walk. He is a well known astronaut.

Maria Sharapova

Maria Sharapova is a world famous tennis player. In 2004 she beat Serena Williams 6-1 and 6-4 in their match.

Interesting Facts

Russia is holding the 2014 winter olympics.

Russia is spread across two continents. Europe and Asia.

Russia is the largest country in the world although they do not have the highest population.

Amusement Parks

Gorky park- Moscows oldest park but is the most equipped and popular. They have a large skating rink.

Poklonnaya Gora- They are a large amusement park. Inside holds a 3D cinema.

Sokolniki Park- It is a small amusement park located near a forest. You can go on various trail walks.
