How was the sun formed?

The sun was formed 4.6 billion years ago, caused by a gravitational collapse of a region.

When it was formed it was small, the past years it has gotten bigger and bigger.

Now, before, and later the sun and the moon will appear the same size when you look up at the sky.

The average light travels from the sun to the earth in approximately 8 minutes and 19 seconds.

The sun is brighter than 85% of all the stars in the solar system.

It is the brightest object in the sky with apparent magnitude.
