Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 11 Prom 2018

Our Year 11 Prom was held in the George Weston Theatre on Friday 29th June. Our students and staff had amazing night and we would like to thank Paige Harrison at Paige's Elegant Occasions for transforming the theatre, Mr and Mrs Docherty for their fantastic disco and photo booth, Mr and Mrs Clarke for providing the Magician and Mr MacLeod for taking the formal photographs of students throughout the evening. Stars of the Week:

Students:


  • Miss Longhurst has nominated Aiden 10C for making a huge effort in History, the hard is certainly paying off.
  • Mrs Ferns would like to say Well done Year 8 Maths Leaders for planning and delivering brilliant Maths lessons on Averages to 8A2, in particular Shay and Ines.
  • Miss Connellan would like nominate Literacy leaders Amelia and Neave , Year 7 and Adam, Year 9 for their superb literacy work with Studfall Junior School Year 6 students this week.
  • Miss Watt has nominated Macy 8T for for a great language album entry and dedication to her German work.
  • Miss Fenner has nominated Literacy Leaders involved in setting up and supporting the Spelling Bee, in particular Holly and Thomas, 7CO, for writing the script.
  • Mr Cox has nominated all Year 10 students who attended the Theatre trip to London, you were all great ambassadors for the school.


Staff:


  • Mrs Reynolds would like to thank all staff who helped make the Year 11 Prom such a great success and all staff that supported on the night, it was a fantastic night enjoyed by everyone.

Attendance Matters

Every single day a student is absent from school equates to a day lost of learning. At Corby Technical School we pride ourselves in maintaining excellent attendance. Our target is to achieve and maintain a whole school attendance of above 96.5%. We will be giving you weekly updates on our whole school attendance, the tutor group and house who achieved the highest attendance this week.

Reminders:

  • Year 9 Residential - a letter has been sent to all students attending the residential to Germany. The trip departs on Monday 9th July, please be at school NO LATER than 4.45am.
  • Year 8 Residential - a letter has been sent to all students attending the residential to France. The trip departs on Tuesday 10th July July, please be at school NO LATER than 5.45am.
