The Diary of Anne Frank
One theme of the diary of Anne Frank is we must show courage when faced with obstacles. An example of courage is when Anne and her family went into hiding. In her diary , he says," it's the silence in the nights that frightens me the most (881). This shows courage because although anne is scared she continues on. Another example of courage is mr. Kraler and miep helping the families in the annex. Anne writes, "if the nazis found out they were hiding us... they would suffer the same fate that we would" (381). Kramer and miep show courage because they do not to help and be in arms way but they do because it is the right thing to do. The final example of courage is when they are found by the green police. The play reads " she is no longer a child, but a women with courage to meet whatever lies ahead" (433). This shows that Anne has courage to face what comes next. These are examples of how we need courage when faced with obstacles.
Another theme of the play of "the diary of Anne Frank" is we must have hope in tough times. An example of hope is when miep said " the invasion has begun" (427). This shows hope because the families were with each other having hope for the war to be over and hope that they won't get shot or get sent to a camp. Another example of hope is when Anne and her family found a hiding place so they aren't seen by the nazis. The last example is when everyone thought that the nazis had found them. In the play, it stated "a moment ago we thought they'd come for us we were sure it was the end... we're alive, safe" (408). This shows that everyone had hope when they thought the nazis found them but it turned out it wasn't the nazis. It was a person that stole things from downstairs.
