Happy New Year!
Reading
We are continuing to work through our informational reading unit. Students have been learning to identify text structures, determine meaning of unfamiliar words and phrases, and distinguish between different types of texts.
Writing
Students have been working on their rough drafts about a nonfiction topic of their choice. They will soon publish their writing using text features to enhance the information in their books.
Math
We will complete our division unit in the coming weeks. After that, we will move on to an area and perimeter unit. Please have your kids practice, or review, their basic multiplication and division facts at home.

Science and Social Studies
Rotations have been going well! In social studies, students are still focusing on the southeast region. In science, we are continuing on with our Earth, Moon, and Sun unit.
