January Vanguard Professional Development Day

January Vanguard Professional Development Day

We are so excited to begin planning for our January Vanguard Professional Development Day, “Limit Break” (gamer themed), that will take place on Friday January 4, 2019. As always, we look forward to providing engaging professional development aligned to Vanguard’s four pillars: Transform, Innovate, Mentor, and Support.

We are soliciting session proposals from Vanguard members for Speedrun Sessions (IGNITE - 20 slides, 15 seconds per slide, 5 minutes total https://youtu.be/h_KJbuCMQLI ), Main Quest Sessions (90 minutes) and Side Quest Sessions (50 minutes). Please consider submitting a proposal for one of these opportunities.

The theme for our “Speedrun Sessions” (IGNITE) will be: “For The Win!”

Our “Main Quest” and “Side Quest” Sessions will fall into one of the following categories: Targeted Small-Group, Student Reflection & Ownership, Using Digital Content & Tools, and Data-Driven Decisions, and be aligned with personalized learning principles and TIM interdependent characteristics: Active, Collaborative, Constructive, Authentic, or Goal-Directed. Are You Presenting at GaETC?

GaETC is coming up quickly in just 21 days, and we want to know if you were selected to present a session. If you are presenting, please respond to this brief survey.

We will be packaging this information together and sharing it out to the whole team so we can support you at the conference. It’s also critical for us to ensure that you are registered properly, so please respond as soon as you are able. Thank you!

GaETC Registration Now Open for New Members!

New members have until October 26th to register, but we will be opening registration up to Vanchise members on October 22nd on a first come first serve basis. We encourage new members to register before Monday so that we have as accurate a count as possible to know how many spots are available to Vanchise members.

Please note, the Instructional Technology department will pay for subs for all Vanguard members, but the school will need to pay for subs for Vanchise members. Remember, all Vanguard and Vanchise members who wish to attend the conference will need to obtain permission from their principal.
