Typing Club

Just a friendly reminder that Typing Club is available to all students in grades 1-8. Student accounts are already set up, so kids just have to log in with their OSD Student Google account. Students use the OSD portal at

This program is accessible by students at home as well. Just 20 minutes three times a week and your kids will have lightning fingers (or at least know the home row keys.)

Try the New Google Forms!

Google has updated Google Forms! It is still a fantastic tool for gathering information, surveying students, creating and administering online formative and summative assessments. New features include additional themes, more intuitive question creation, and integrated viewing of results. Check out this link for more information.

Tech Advisory Committee 12/17

The Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) meets monthly and includes a representative from each building. Extra credit if you know who your building rep is! The next meeting is Thursday, December 17. Secondary meetings begin at 3:15. Elementary meetings begin at 4:15. TAC reps may attend in person or online via Google Hangout.

TAC members represent their schools and have the responsibility to communicate information about district technology initiatives. Please ask your TAC rep for the latest tech news or to relay any questions or concerns you may have.

Technology Professional Development Opportunities

December workshops will be building-focused based on need and requests. We are currently focusing on Google Drive and Docs, Hapara, and Homeroom.

Want to Put on Your Own Technology Workshop?

If you and/or others in your building wish to lead a tech PD session, please fill out the form at

The form will be reviewed to make sure that it is consistent with the District’s direction with technology. Workshops should be tied to the umbrella list of aligned training topics, as set by the district instructional technology staff.
