Team Talk
The Road To Distinctions Week Of February 15, 2016
Go Get it Time
The results of the common assessments that were given last week , marks the time when we as team must pull together and analyze the data to prepare for the re-teach to allow scholars the opportunity to progress toward mastery on concepts that need attention.
We will refer to the next three months as "Go Get it Time". This phrase represents what we as professionals will deliver in the classroom during the good first instruction, as well as the collaborative purposeful planning that will occur in PLC's. Our scholars will need our best work to give them hope and actualize their dreams.
Key Action 1
Improve the quality of Instruction and increase student achievement through effective and purposeful lesson planning. (Linked to district key action# 2. Implement the TEI system, tying teacher evaluations to student achievement results).

Key Action 3
Great Job Seniors
Last Friday, three of our senior scholars traveled to Harrell Budd elementary to speak with 4th graders about the importance of having a successful foundation that begins in elementary to middle school and eventually high school and beyond.
They did an excellent job representing Roosevelt High School.
Future Roosevelt Graduates
Our senior scholars presented every fourth grader who will graduate in 2024 a T-Shirt that read, "Class of 2024 Roosevelt Mustangs". The fourth graders wore their shirts proudly.

Commitment
Development of the craft
Vision
Franklin D. Roosevelt will improve the quality of instruction for all scholars by committing to developing, supporting, and monitoring systems that will transform our community to embody a culture that leads our scholars to college and post- secondary success.
Pre-Observation Conversations
The first round of Mid-Year Conversations have gone well. The feedback from teachers has been positive. Some verbalized that it was a great way for them to reflect on their practice and served as a vehicle to become better at their practice.
If you have not received a calendar invite, one will be coming soon.
Look For's
- Good First Instruction
- LO/DOL alignment matching the TEKS/SE
- Student engagement
- Maximizing of instruction
It is suggested that you continue to review the rubric not just for the spot observation indicators, but domain 2.4 checking for academic understanding and 2.6 for activating higher order thinking skills.
Student Engagement Walks
Engagement walks will begin after our DDI process on the recent common assessments. In the mean time, identify three student engagement strategies that you will perfect that is of high leverage and leads to student achievement. Your colleagues have expressed that they would like to learn from one another.
Campus and Student Culture
Let's continue to do our part as professionals implementing systems that are in place with fidelity in an attempt to take our campus to the next level.
Attendance Matters
Last Week:
Teacher attendance-13 teachers absent at least 1 day.
9th Grade- 91.85%
10th Grade -92.04%

Our seniors led the way this week with attendance. Senior teachers, let's congratulate them in class!
Also, thank you teachers. Our un-submitted attendance has improved greatly. Keep it up!
Pathway To Impact
In PLC this week score and analyze data in preparation for your DDI conference
I want to go on record to let you know that I believe that our profession is one of the hardest of them all. We take young minds and prepare them for their future in hopes of making this a better world.
I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you for the work you put in on a daily basis.
Thank you!
Let's continue to blaze a pathway that will have a profound impact for our scholars. We must provide the platform that gives our scholars hope because, "Hope Lives Here".
