CHES Weekly Snapshot
9/2/19-9/6/19
From the Principal
Yay! The time has finally come to welcome students back to school! CHES teachers and staff have been working so hard to make sure our little leaders have the BEST year EVER at Clover Hill! Please read through the important sections below. Here are some important things to note:
School begins on Tuesday, September 3rd at 7:45 AM and ends at 2:15 PM.
- Student drop-off begins at 7:20. Please remember, we encourage your child to ride the bus on the first day so that the bus driver can meet each child at his/her regular bus stop; this causes less confusion in the afternoon for students, teachers and bus drivers. If you plan to use the morning car line, be sure to follow the flow of traffic by going up the hill to wait in line.
- If you are going to be a regular car rider in the PM, be sure you obtain a car pass from the front office.
- We love when you join us for lunch, but the cafeteria will be closed to visitors the first two weeks of school as we will use this time to teach lunchroom expectations to our students.
- Breakfast service starts the first day of school.
- If you plan to walk your child to class, you will need to sign in at the front office (NO EXCEPTIONS). Make sure you have your ID ready and be prepared to wait :O) If you have never visited CHES, you will need to have your license scanned.
- Like us on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
- We are still accepting denim for this year's denim drive.
- Check your child's yellow daily folder for important information as well as the first day packet.
Don't forget to reach out with any questions and/or concerns!
Thank you for your continued support, Mrs. Strollo and Mrs. Andersen
Staggered Start Times for Kindergarten
- Half of a kindergarten class will attend school Sept. 3-4, while the other half will attend school Sept. 5-6.
- Students with last names between A-L will report Sept. 3-4. Students with last names between M-Z report Sept. 5-6. (This may be different for some schools where there is an alphabetical imbalance. Schools where this occurs will notify parents.)
- All students in grades 1-5 report on Sept. 3.
These adjustments will help new students to elementary school reduce anxiety, build community and start their formal education in Chesterfield County in a smaller educational setting with more individualized attention.
Transportation
This year, we will go by BUS number. There are no longer "route" numbers.
- You can get your child's bus information by visiting E-Link. If you do not know your child's student ID number, you can view it on Parentvue or ask your child their username for logging onto the computer.
- You can also download an app called MyStop and track your child's bus GPS to see the exact location. See the button below. User Name = ID #, Password= Birth date ie. 1/2/2009 would be entered as 01022009. See the Transportation Website for directions and a VIDEO
- If you haven't filled out the CHES Transportation form, please click here. This is our way of TRIPLE CHECKING students go home the correct way :O)
