Lead Learner's Message
Goooooood evening #BroncoStrong faculty and staff!
I hope everyone is having a a great week! The testing season is upon us, but don't fret....take a deep breath and believe in our kids and all you have done to prepare them. This week we will only have math interventions on Friday, as we are too short-staffed on Thursday. I am going to talk with ELA teachers tomorrow and see if I can arrange the schedule to have ELA interventions on Friday as well, so be looking for that email and updated lists.
Please make sure you are ready to discuss evidence from Domain 4 in your TTESS end-of-year conference. Also, next week we will be on a regular bell schedule until Friday and at that time we will have clubs for ALL kids. I will post and send out the new lists sometime next Monday.
I hope you made today the BEST Tuesday of the week! Thanks so much for all you do and don't forget, our mindsets shape our behavior when it comes to learning. #Growthmindset

Favorite Learning Experience in School and Why: My senior year, in our “Advanced Texas History” class, we we assigned to research a historic home in my hometown. I was able to find out the history of the home and take a tour with the current owner. It was a great experience, and I remember everything about it. Being able to interview the homeowner and discuss the history of the home and my hometown was something that I still remember today.

Tech Tidbits - Career Exploration
CareerVillage.org
Sometimes the best way to learn about a career is to talk to an actual human being who has worked in the field. CareerVillage.org makes that possible. On this simple question and answer platform, students ask career- related questions, then get answers from professionals with real-life experience.
The student view of CareerVillage.org is clean and simple and set up similarly to standard social media platforms. Using the search bar at the top, students can search for keywords or hashtags to find questions asked by the large community of users. If a student has a question in mind that has not been asked, she can submit a brand new question so other people can watch for the answer as well.
The Career Plans feature takes the whole Q&A platform to the next level. Students who feel they have a grasp on their career path can fill out a form (a Career Plan) that asks for the assumed step-by-step process of achieving their career goals. Once posted, five professionals from that field go in and review all the information, providing personalized feedback on a more specific goal than the Q&A offers.
When logged in as an educator, teachers are able to create cohorts of students (accessible through a simple invite code) allowing the teacher to track things like questions asked and answers received. Educators also have access to free resources including standards-aligned lessons and videos.
